Oregano achieved dramatic popularity in the U.S. when soldiers returning from WWII found themselves craving the flavors of Italian classics like pizza, hence why it’s often called the “pizza herb.”

Classic Marinara Sauce

Uses: Mediterranean Oregano, Sweet Basil

Note: In addition to the dried oregano, we add ½ tsp dried basil instead of the fresh sprig.

Classic Roasted Chicken

Uses: Thyme, Mediterranean Oregano, California Garlic Powder, Tellicherry Black Pepper, Crushed Red Chili Flakes

Note: Mix the salt with ½ tsp each of oregano, thyme, garlic, black pepper, and chili flakes. This is our favorite method for roasting a chicken!
